Allard Buwalda

Born in Leeuwarden in 1967, has played saxophone from his Seventh, in local harmony, first saxophone and later clarinet and flute. Then went first classic study in Groningen before light music to study to Hilversum. early ninety Allard completed his studies in Hilversum Conservatory excellent off, as teaching and performing musician. If lead-alt/solist he was part of such AB-4, The Skymasters, The Beau Hunks, Cor Bakker-4 and until 2007 the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw. Meanwhile we are quite a few years have passed and already Allard joined the so narrow top Dutch musicians and has already Jazz 1990 two awards dragged namely the prestigious Pall Mall Denon Swing Swing Award and the Award. He also made three solo CDs: Together (1992), The Right Track (2005) and in 2008 The Return of the Elephant with The Phone Bone Quintet which was nominated for an Edison Jazz Award. Seemingly effortlessly he knows to move within the div. styles of Jazz and Pop Music, hereby makes he lyrically virtuoso use of all saxophones, clarinets, flute and piccolo. Since 2003 Buwalda connected as Major-teacher Saxophone Jazz and Pop at the Conservatory in Enschede.
